Excerpt (part 1) from The Cal Poly Arab Music Ensemble Fall Concert, directed by Dr. Ken Habib and joined by the Zaryab Ensemble, Ballet Theatre San Luis Obispo, and other guest artists Nov. 22, 2014 in Harman Hall in the Performing Arts Center, San Luis Obispo CA.
In this segment, Neema Hekmat leads the the Zaryab Ensemble from the San Francisco Bay Area and plays santur, the Persian hammered dulcimer; Amir Abbas Etemadzadeh sings and plays percussion; and Aydin Kiasat plays kamanche, the Persian spike fiddle.
Hannah Romanowsky, a dancer whose reputation spans from North America to Europe and Asia. A classically trained performing artist and cultural dance educator, she specializes in dance from Iran, Central Asia, and the larger region.
