We will draw inspiration from women’s traditions and indigenous embodied spiritual practices, reawakening our ancestral connection to dance as a vehicle of transformation, healing and embodied spirituality. No previous experience required.

This is where FORM meets SPIRIT. Come shake, spin, and sway with us!

Over the course of the weekend you will:

~ Learn about dance and women’s spiritual leadership in the ancient world

~ Learn authentic tribal dances and indigenous sacred movement practices from the Middle East and beyond

~ Experience movement techniques designed to open your heart, awaken your body, and uplift your spirit

~ Receive support, tools and resources to help you to integrate what you’ve learned as part of your own spiritual practice

You will dance away inspired, and with a deeper sense of your own capacity for healing and transformation through dance and movement.

Here’s what past workshop participants have shared:

“This (weekend retreat) was an utterly beautiful experience. One of the best parts was sharing the feminine energy amongst us divergent women of different ages and dance experience. Some beginner dancers , some experienced dancers, some young, some older.” – participant

“Each half day was another experience into another culture….and we got to dance it, dress it and experience it! I am filled with gratitude!!!” – Alicia E., participant

“Hannah is such a joyful, knowledgeable teacher. I came to the class as pretty much a non-dancer and felt completely at home in a class of experienced dancers. The camaraderie was quick and sweet! It was an inspiring journey through Mid-Eastern lands.” – participant

“What a gift to drop the world and enter the sacred and feminine space that Hannah provides. A weekend of dancing, dining, storytelling and seeing and experiencing the rich images and teachings about women cultures from Central Asia, Morocco, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and Iran and Egypt. Immersion into a beautiful world! what fun!!!” – participant

“As a true dance professional and choreographer Hannah explores the depth of each culture she teaches. Her knowledge and spirit is opened to
the world of movements and music. Being a women of the African diaspora I learnt something new about my ancestors.” ~ Beatrice R., participant

“Hannah’s workshop was exhilarating, joyful, and educational. I felt uplifted afterwards, and emerged with a positive feeling of lightness.” ~Kristen L.

“I just spent two days with Hannah and a diverse group of spirited women, and the experience made me reconnect with dancing at a very deep and intense level. I felt so alive and free in the space where your body and your soul intersect, and beauty and healing naturally happen.” ~ Regina J.

“The potency of sacred women’s spaces was made evident to me during this beautiful two day healing dance ritual. That experience of learning, of playing, and of connecting to our feminine power through community and the container held so humbly and graciously by Hannah will stay with me forever, and has become fuel for a new passion in my life to explore Sufi and Berber traditional, meditative dance. My deepest gratitude goes to all women of the dance, now, and throughout all of time.” ~ Kiva.

“A week later and still relishing in the magical afterglow! Seriously, much to my surprise I am still reaping the benefits and riding the waves of such a weekend. Personally it was an end of an era, and what better way to initiate a new beginning, than to breathe in new life with ritual, spinning, baddass women, wonderful food, perfect location and gorgeous weather. Outstanding!” ~ Melinda C.
