What is ShaktiAs the life force and manifestation of All That Is, Shakti’s activated feminine energy appears in many forms. You may encounter her presence on the meditation pillow, or in the swaying of trees, or in the warm face of a dear friend. She activates all things in the manifest world – including your dance class! “Shake your Shakti” feminine dance fitness invites you to shake, shimmy, and undulate, releasing stress and building strength and fluidity in the body. There are many health benefits to belly dance technique. The movements are both beautiful and require strength, in the most feminine of ways. Come explore the way a woman moves. This is a dance technique class inviting you to love your body and challenge it in new and exciting ways.

Hannah Romanowsky, M.A., Spirit Dance Mentor and Director of Scheherazade School of Dance & Sacred Movement, has been researching, embodying, and teaching women’s dances from the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia and beyond for over two decades.
